Journey into Mary MacKillop's childhood to unveil the girl behind the habit.

Have you ever wondered how a poor girl from a migrant family grew up to become a leading Australian figure of her time?

You’re welcome at our next meeting to hear about how a young Mary overcame the challenges of the harsh colonial world she lived in to make her life a living prayer through her dedication to helping lift up the poor who were very much neglected in the Australian colonies of the 19th century.

On Friday September 21 Sister Lynette Young RSJ is coming to give us a talk about Mary MacKillop's early years where you will hear Mary come to life and share in her difficulties and her triumphs.

The evening starts around 6:30pm and will conclude around 9:00pm.

Mary MacKillop Melbourne's home is the ‘Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre’ located at 362 Albert Street East Melbourne, which is opposite the Fitzroy Gardens on the corner of Albert Street and Providence Lane.

Please let me know you’re coming by Friday 14 September so we make sure there’s enough food for everyone, just give me a call or text on 0433 730 266 or email at deirdre_crocker@hotmail.com.

Come along to hear about the Joey in Josephites…
